I still maintain that there is little similarity in today's market and that of October 2002.

True. From a practical perspective today's market is very different but we have quite a few new worries combining with a couple still lingering from back then. The fear is not as strongly reflected in the investment polls as it was back in Oct 2002. We knew war was on it's way and that was a very dark cloud on the horizon from an investment perspective and we hadn't come to grips with the post 9/11 "new world order". The reluctance to invest any amount of money back then was dramatically evident. One of the major differences in today's world is that there is a ton of money sitting in coffers around the world that wasn't there back in 2002. While profits have substantially returned today versus what we saw back in the 4th quarter of 2002, we still seem to have too many companies who are sitting on their capital reserves, in my opinion.
