I think Intel's goals should be to restore their earnings and revenues. Yes they want to slow AMD's marketshare GROWTH, and a stronger competitive position will help with that. Slashing prices now to try to hold back marketshare growth hurts them more than letting AMD take a few more points of share, which is all AMD can manage in desktop, given the capacity issues. IMO.

Re: I knew that, i was just curious if intel would release the chip for real 3rd party testing as they usd to do before.

Third parties would almost certainly have to sign NDAs forbidding them to release benchmarks and other information, just as they have in the past.
