I don't know if you would call that a price war, but Intel will have to slash their prices on current generation cpu's if they want to sell the millions they're currently producing. Nobody in their right mind would buy a present generation cpu if the upcoming one is so good. Not a pretty picture for their numbers for the next 2 or 3 quarters. I tend to think AMD is sandbagging a bit. Ruiz and Richard did not sound particularly nervous last time they were interviewed.
