Although both are in the energy sector, inherently they are different business models. I don't know how well OXY and MRO are hedged but their decline is even less than CHK because (IMO) they are much more heavily weighted towards oil and refining than natural gas, hence their stock prices have not been impacted like NG group:

I personally am favoring oil over gas which I am favoring over drillers. When things turn around the reverse order will likely be the best performers.
