1. The Reuters reporter was an idiot who had no idea what the Intel VP was *really* saying.

2. The mighty Eracer, sitting a mere 7,000 miles away, actually knows what the Euro VP was truly communicating.

This is an accurate summary of what you wrote, right?

I wouldn't describe myself as mighty, and I wouldn't necessarily call the reporter an idiot. Other that that, it looks about right.

Reporters, even those that cover technology, often made mistakes or don't have in-depth knowledge about every topic they cover. Do you believe everything financial analysts say about AMD and Intel because they are the "experts"?

Once again the Intel exec's quote didn't rule out big price cuts at all, just price cuts on NGA products compared to current generation products. Given the choice of selling better products for the same money or the same products for less money he would prefer the former versus the latter. Well, so would 10 out of 10 other executives in his position.

He isn't going to sabotage his own company by bringing further attention to any big price cuts or performance woes in their current product line. Do you really expect the Intel executive, or any executive, when asked a painful question to dwell on the negative aspect of the question? Or do you expect them to quickly change the topic to highlight the positive things the company is doing? I know what I would do if I was an executive who valued my job.
