I didn't necessarily mean an out and out bribe. Matthews could be becoming more neocon friendly because of something as innocent looking as speaking fees. I've read that he has been speaking to a number of right wing groups lately. If everytime one of the hundreds of right wing think tanks approves of something Matthews does and wants to reward him they offer him a lucrative speaking gig this would make Matthews more likely to continue leaning to the right and perhaps even open him up to suggestions of when to lean to the right. No outright bribe there is there?

PS.... Matthews is more involved in the Plame affair than he has let on and events surrounding this could also influence his views on different subjects. Blackmail is unlikely but not out of the question.
