Re: Just take a look at 40% advantage that anand reported - I am sure that intel knew very well that the advantage is not 40% (I would be really shocked if it is more than 10%) and yet they happily indirectly confirmed anand's results.

I'm not sure Intel did know at the time. The testers were allowed to pick whatever resolutions they wanted. Some reviewers weren't even directly comparing the two systems to each other, but were picking resolutions which they could compare to previous performance reviews. Intel let representatives from several hardware sites test the systems. It would be only a matter of time before Anandtech's results would be shown to be in error, so there isn't a benefit for Intel to hide the bad results. Hiding such information rather than pointing it out right away would only make Anandtech and Intel look bad in the long run.
