And irrelevant. It isn't like Intel can bomb prices on consumer processors and charge a premium on commercial ones. True, they could try some complicated rebate scheme, but then the OEMs are likely to get very cross with them.

But that is likely to be the case any way. Intel has effectively put a damper on sales of most OEMs highest margin desktops for the next 6 months or so, gamer systems. Given the rich mix of peripherals, fancy cases and cooling such systems have, that will be a much bigger loss to OEMs than to AMD. I wonder how they feel?
