Well, I too think Homosexuality is wrong but if its a disease or something that the individual cannot help (which is what I have come to believe) its also wrong to attack them. So long as they keep their feelings to themselves and leave us heterosexual types alone I say live and let live. jdn

PC is the new (now old) Victorianism

it is also the greatest threat to free speech in our lifetime

the liberals are turning America into a country where you are afraid to speak your mind

Liberals limit debate, for fear they would lose or common sense would poke its head up

OTOH, in Miami, The teacher is in trouble when free speech was used. What it boils down to is that you have a "right" to free speech when the liberals agree with it.

Stay on it, Bill. The issue of what's happening in our public schools needs as much light as possible.

Btw, the best thing I've read in a few years is George Friedman's (Stratfor) America's Secret War. Last night I was browsing through it again and I reread the section about what McCarthyism did to this country. In a nutshell: we were badly disadvantaged against Al Qaida, because no one on either side of the political spectrum wants any part of dealing with an actual "conspiracy" -- a term which, since the days of McCarthy, is often followed by the word "nut." The killings of JFK, RFK, and MLK were necessarily the work of "lone gunmen," for example.

There's a lot of resistance to recognizing certain systemic problems in this country -- and in this world, for that matter -- but our public education system is badly diseased, and the sooner we recognize that and get to work on it, the better.
