<<There can be non economic motivations. The oil in her ground may stink.>>

Money is all that matters.

<<Mankind will never use all the oil that has already been found. This is my greatest contribution to the theory of oil. If you want the details, they're in this thread back aways. Suffice it to say materials science and other technological developments will render the argument moot or proved in 20 years.>>

I agree this should be obvious. 20 years is such a long time these days.

< I have colleagues in physics who claim aliens from other worlds can't exist because if they did, they would have already contacted us.>

They no doubt have the same conversation and wonder why we haven't contacted them. I'm busy with summer and investments.

<Mankind will never use all the oil that has already been found. This is my greatest contribution to the theory of oil.>

That's also one of my contributions to the theory of oil. Sheik Yamani also contributed that theory and said it best: <"The Stone Age came to an end not for a lack of stones and the oil age will end, but not for a lack of oil." > planetark.org

Many of us seem to have contributed that part of the theory of oil. A related contribution is Peak People is likely to precede Peak Oil. Perhaps as soon as Xmas if H5N1 gets going. In which case Peak Oil and Peak People will coincide.
