Except it wouldn't be a lie. There is no theoretical basis for time travel, unless you want to include time dilation. Which isn't really time travel. Now true, if you stretch some current models to the limit, some seem to allow time travel, forward and/or backwards. But it is more likely that those models are incomplete and time travel really isn't possible.

But hey, if you think that it is ok to lie depending on who the questioner is, that is your choice. It still makes you a liar.
