The table below shows a periodic sampling of 12 month mean price target values as compiled by First Call. The first sample is for the week ending 10/28/05 and continues to the present, using 4 or 5 week sample intervals. The last interval is only 2 weeks. The last column shows the percent change from Friday's close compared to the first column. At the bottom line, the percent change for the Group from interval to interval is shown. On this line can be seen the positive impact of the quarterly earnings reports that were imparted in the Jan/Feb time frame. At the Group level, the 12 month mean target price has been increased by 17 percent since 10/28/05 through last Friday's close.

Don, that is a buy signal on that VTO RSI(5) System.

investorshub.com

There are some good reasons to think we will see an attempt for the market to rally back now. For starters the volume was pretty healthy on Friday for the QQQQ and SMH. But ultimately this looks like one of those times that the market heads lower before finding a firm bottom to me.

Just like the put to call ratio needing to be really high on its 10 day sma (no buy signal there yet) the QQQQ and SMH will put in stronger bottoms coming off a lower RSI reading.
