Don't try and put the "straw man" argument and play the "Bush card" in trying to distract attention from WHAT YOU STATED IN YOUR OWN WORDS!! Wouldn't Iraq be better off with secular Saddam and the status quo between Sunnis and Shiites right now as we are heading into a showdown with Iran, rather than how things are now and Iraq in the hands of Iranian mullahs and islamic fundamentalists? You STATED OUTRIGHT SUPPORT FOR MAINTAINING SADDAM IN POWER, free to continue brutalizing Iraqis and Kurds. You've also stated support for Hugo Chavez, who has a close relationship with Iran's Ahmadinejad.. You can run.. but you can't hide Sly... you FASCIST!!! You prefer that Arabs be ruled by Fascists and Authorian Monarchs because you are so racist that you don't believe they deserve to enjoy democracy. I don't care what Bush, Clinton, or even Gore say... Those are THEIR views, not mine. My view is that United States should NEVER have a Foreign Policy that aims towards creating dictatorships and totalitarian regimes. Any support for a government should be contingent upon encouraging the establishment of legitimacy via the democratic process. And when we don't have sufficient influence to prevent a dictatorship from seizing control in a particular country, it should be foremost on our policy agenda that a dictatorship should only serve as a transition towards democratic government. We should NEVER CEASE to demand democratic reforms in exchange for our tacit support of any TEMPORARY Authoritarian Government. Examples of such might be Chile, Panama, Greece... All of which are CURRENTLY DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS!! Btw, did you know that Chile just elected a socialist leader? Hawk
