At what point in total deaths would you consider that the cure is worth the solution? Give me a number? Perhaps a better solution was available...even if Saddam was ousted (and yes, we all think that was an enviable goal), the way the Bush Administration handled the post-battle of Baghdad period is appalling. Did you see the Marine general on Meet the Press yesterday? Here is a guy who lived it and says the problem is that the military needed to stand up to Rummy and the neocons...and should have done so, even if it meant career suicide like it did for those willing to stand up.

Just because a goal is worthy does not forgive a completely inept method of carrying out the goal.

Yes. Maybe if Bush took his attention off of taking the oil and making a little capitalists wet dream country out of Iraq while IGNORING THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE THERE I would feel differently. For Bush it's not about the people, it's about profits for his buddies' corporations.
