Obviously none of us has inside info. I sure don't. But it seems to me the anticipated price reduction is what prompted Intel's 11% reduction of revenue and 4-pt reduction in gross margin from q4-'05 to q1-'06.

I just find it impossible that Dell would accept to pay 50% higher prices than H-P. Or that H-P would accept paying Intel 50% higher price than they pay AMD.

i believe that historically AMD has offered much deeper discounts to OEMs than intel has found necessary...this may have changed

Or, AMD sells greater percentage of the Sempron than Intel sells Cellerons.
