No. The thesis of plentiful oil that got there from planet formation is already strong and picking up momentum. You don't hear about it much because any scientist who depends upon government or university funding(99%), would not want to get behind a politically incorrect theory no matter how attractive. You can see here why a lot of big science is bad science.

I believe the fusion program is being compromised by this. There's a viable idea to realize fusion but the idiot government funding cabal has all the money and clout to push inertial fusion to the exclusion of a better idea. Inertial fusion may never work. It sure is having a hard time showing results while it spends loads of money. Meanwhile, Bellin's Spinning Bottle approach gathers dust.
