The top of the line systems 4 years ago today were the Athlon XP 2100+ and 2.2GHz/400MHz FSB Northwood.

I just quickly looked ant Anand's site, and I saw following 2 articles dated 2002:

Isn't it really counterproductive in the long run for Intel to push dual-core before they are freed from the FSB bottleneck?

Starting about right now, AMD has enough manufacturing capacity to gain >3% market share per quarter while simultaneously transitioning to 50% dual core over the next year.
