The general trend is up. True, there are some days when there is less, which inevitably trigger headlines about "Lull in Violence Shows Worst is Over", but it always cranks back up. Meanwhile, our troops and the contractors sit there, with little targets on their foreheads...

Baghdad Police Find 72 Bodies in 24 Hours By ALEXANDRA ZAVIS, Associated Press Writers
Police found at least 72 bodies killed by gunfire in Baghdad in the past 24 hours — a gruesome wave of apparent sectarian reprisal attacks in some of the capital's most dangerous neighborhoods, officials said Tuesday.


Just last week......a Bush rep or a general said that the possiblity of a civil war was unlikely. Tonite, they are saying the scenario is more serious than they thought and will have to keep an eye on things. In other words, they don't have a clue....per usual.

The day is coming when Americans will have to take it to the street.
