Re: someone else posted 40% recently. 20% better than amd's best would imply that amd would have to improve the performance by 40%+. Of course that was intel's controlled environment.

At least a couple sites ran the F.E.A.R. benchmark at 640x480 to further reduce any graphics bottleneck. At 640x480 Conroe was beating the 2.8GHz Athlon by 40%.
