Perhaps the reporters in Iraq would report on accidental deaths too, if they could get out of the green zone to see what is going on. So they stick to reporting off the official US reports of casualties. I'm sure that the death rate by accident in Iraq is as least as high as it is in the US...perhaps higher.

Most Americans aren't concerned about the non war related news, that's why we have foreign correspondents in Iraq instead of local news reporters, I suppose you might subscribe to one of Iraq's local papers if that's your area of interest.
