I found the piece interesting as a rationale, however tenuous, for the concerns of some about declining birth rates and declining patrimony. I don't recall ever seeing a rationale, only the God and tradition flags awaving.

I wish there were some data about how many kids follow in their parents footsteps and how many find their own paths. I wonder how inevitably fundamentalists parents produce a fundamentalist next generation.
