Bush-Cheney lied about WMD. Kerry didn't. The White House did not give congress the full intel on Iraq, only cherry-picked what they wanted congress to see, in collusion with Pat Roberts their yes-man who has a lot of explaining to do. Kerry did not have top-level clearance. He couldn't go to the CIA and read their files. He had to rely on the White House and Roberts.

There is plenty of evidence now that Bush-cheney and their people deliberately lied and covered up in order to rush us into the war in Iraq. Kerry's stand was to only go in as a last resort after all options were exhausted, and then only when we were damn well prepared and had the maximum amount of allies at our side, and a cohesive post-invasion plan.

Bush promised to do as Kerry wanted, then broke his word to congress. All he wanted was their vote and he lied to get it. Same as he did with his Medicare bill, hiding 135 billion of its true cost until after the vote. Kerry did make a mistake, believing the White House was even halfway honest.
