The reaction to Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold's call for George W. Bush's censure has officially gone nowhere. Not only has it been rejected by the Republican majority, but Democrats are running away from it as fast as they can. Feingold is out there swinging slowly in the wind.

You gotta love Senate Majority Bill Frist's move yesterday. He schedules a vote on the matter, just to see how many Democrats would publicly go on the record for the censure. The Democrats refused to even allow the vote to take place, evidently for fear of being embarrassed.

The real weasel here is Feingold. He's running for president, and he viewed this censure move as a political opportunity. Isn't this wonderful? We're at war, and this senator moves to censure the president because he was tapping the conversations of terrorist suspects phoning contacts in the United States.

Can it be said that Russ Feingold has given aid and comfort to the very people who are trying to kill us?
