Rainy_Day_Woman,

Developers, local politicians, and engineers, are destroying vast areas that are habitats for hundreds of species. Many of them are teetering on the edge of extinction. Every life form on earth has an impact on the ecosystem, and as we lose them, we will be adversely affected as well.

Trees, and other greenery, produce oxygen, but are being destroyed in the name of progress.

LOL, that is so pessimistic, so down, it's laughable. Engineers in general are quite humble and usually strive with everything within them to access risks and yes then do what is required to tame them. But in all cases there are finite resources to pay for the taming. A compromise is always made.

poor poor Rainy_Day_Woman can you list all the things you touch that represent the work product of engineers who have tamed clean water, waste disposal, energy fo preserve your ford, keep you warm or cool. Technology that allows you to read how really really stupid people regard the egos of engineers.

LOL all at cost of the people who end up living there.

"there is a long history of questionable development throughout the entire United States"

The same could be said of the world.

"developers, local politicians promoting growth no matter what the impact"

People let greed for override reason. Many people do not want to move, but want success. Thus development should be where they are.

"the egos of engineers, maintaining they can tame anything"

Agreed. However based on the response from one, it appears they may not want to admit to it.

"the egos of engineers, maintaining they can tame anything"

Think globally, act locally!
