Don't make too much of it. It's just one indicator. Not one that I follow much for the very reasons you are concerned. Furthermore it's not nearly as low as it was in October 2005. Sentiment can and does often track along with movements in the market though. Some indicators are best only at real extremes. The Nova/Ursa ratio is pretty bearish though and not what you would expect at a market top.

That is all that can be read into it.
