people with a normal average brain should be able to put multiple pieces of data together for understanding. however, our biases set up rules that keep us blind and our thinking dull. the more biases we have the duller we are.

I think a lot of people just are not capable of putting together multiple pieces of data or facts at the same time which may be required to understand a complex concept.

They are capable but they don't want to put the work in to get it. It's like trying to decide whether you will learn some programming environment to build a web site. You ask yourself, "will I get enough out of this to make the effort"? Usually the return on effort is small, but the return on many such efforts even if not coordinated, is great, because it gives one the ability to quickly put in a little work to get a lot out of the effort. I learned that from having to become a skilled programmer rather than through becoming a skilled mathematician.
