And should silver fail to achieve great heights, one can always console oneself in the knowledge that its shape, while dancing with the devil by the pale moonlight, will ward off vampires (and the odd Batman as legend goes) failing which, when cornered, a surgically placed incision will do wonders for the heart, not to mention the bacterial residue... ;)...is there any wonder why it was the Medieval Knight's version of the "Swiffer"? ;)

Beware the frumious silvered bandersnatch
Whose sticky claws a mighty grabbercatch
The vorpal blade to sweep thus from thy hand
To petard-hoist a snicker-swand
And turn it pointy-end to where thee dumbly stand
