From after the close yesterday...16:16 UTEK Ultratech Stepper receives multiple Advanced-Packaging Lithography system orders from SPIL (23.45 +0.35) Co announced that Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) has ordered several Ultratech Unity AP200 advanced-packaging lithography systems. Slated for 200-mm devices, the tools will be delivered to SPIL's Taiwan headquarters over the next few quarters.

07:23 TXN TSMC and UMC see reduced orders from TI and Freescale - Digitimes (31.28 ) Digitimes reports Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) saw Texas Instruments and Freescale Semiconductor (FSL) cut orders by 5-10% recently, with the clients expecting weaker demand, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News. The reduced orders may affect the second-quarter utilization rates at the foundries' 12-inch fabs, the paper said.
