From after the close yesterday...16:16 UTEK Ultratech Stepper receives multiple Advanced-Packaging Lithography system orders from SPIL (23.45 +0.35)

Co announced that Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) has ordered several Ultratech Unity AP200 advanced-packaging lithography systems. Slated for 200-mm devices, the tools will be delivered to SPIL's Taiwan headquarters over the next few quarters.

Digitimes reports Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) saw Texas Instruments and Freescale Semiconductor (FSL) cut orders by 5-10% recently, with the clients expecting weaker demand, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News. The reduced orders may affect the second-quarter utilization rates at the foundries' 12-inch fabs, the paper said.
