Who would be stupid enough to pay more than the market price? They would, if they believe that buying that many shares in the open market will push up the price more than the private placement price... Granted, this company in question, is relatively small - about $375 mil in market cap. While you have the right to question my comment, and to ask for the name of the company, I have to think about how much personal information I want to divulge on a public forum...
