The way I understand it, stocks/bonds (eg SPX:TLT) is probably an attempt (inacurate IMO, I agree with you) to compare E/P on SPX and TNX.

Won't you agree that with TNX around 5% (and rising) it might be tempting to shift some money from stocks (E/P of S&P around 5%, last year return 4.9%) into treasuries?
