Today could be the day a premium of at least 19 b.p. is generated on GLD which could lead to a physical delivery.

BTW the quakes to the North of S.A. can impact production at the deeper levels in S.A. mines as increased safety checks will be made.

I am looking forward to seeing GLD sell at a premium sufficient to generate a purchase of physical gold and delivery for new shares.

Not sure if todays move up in the pog will result in GLD trading at a premium or not, but if it does and physical is bought for delivery that could help build support for even higher prices for gold in the future.

The potential remains for a purchase and delivery of physical gold whenever the GLD ETF shares trade at a 10 b.p. premium to spot gold.

This is of interest to me since the purchase and delivery will be made regardless of the fundamental or technical picture for gold. It will be done because that will be the way to make 10 or more b.p. on millions of dollars.

The question remains, however, will GLD shares once again sell at a premium to spot gold or will they trade at a discount?

Nonetheless, knowing that 3 or more tons of gold might be purchased even as the pog is going up, makes me feel more bullish.
