April 24-28th: 27th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology,Monterey,California.

Around Mid-May=NOAA first 2006 hurricane season outlook.

May 15th: Eastern Pacific hurricane season starts.

May 31st: Philip J. Klotzbach/Dr William Gray hours before 2006 season starts outlook.

It certainly looks that way. The Atlantic hurricane cycle is back into an active phase, Gulf waters are warmer than normal, thanks to a warm winter in North America (Europe and Asia had a cold one), and finally, we've got a La Niña condition as well this year, which enhances Atlantic hurricane formation.

Batten down the hatches time coming up for Gulf and Atlantic seaboard residents...
