The sanctions were applied across the board. As a result, many Iraqis died. Why should we depend on Russian intelligence? Don't we have our own intelligence agencies? It is pathetic to say that our current Iraqi mess is due to British intelligence and Russian intelligence. What happened to our own intelligence? (pun intended). Clinton made it clear to Dumbya that AQ was the greatest danger and Saddam, if he was a danger at all, was fifth or sixth in the list. Dumbya, like any village idiot would do, took his eye off the greatest danger and instead focused our energies on the paper tiger called Saddam. That opened a hornet's nest in Iraq and we will be paying for it (in lives and in treasure) for many, many years.
