If the Hannity-Limbaugh-O'Reilly crowd sink into that rut where anyone who doesn't support Bush is an anti-American liberal, they will tune themselves out from the political center the same way the Democrats did under Reagan and then again in the last two presidential elections.

The voices on the right saying hold on, something isn't right here, aren't resonating at all with the "base". Which means that unless the Republicans lose control of Congress in 2006, the 2008 primaries are more likely than ever to spit out an orthodox Bush clone than someone who can reach out to the center.
