Don't get me wrong. I'm sure that Bush would wield the line-item veto as a partisan political tool, gutting mostly Dem pork, unlike Clinton's use of it. He'd also use it to punish those Repugnicans who've gone against him. But ANY pork cut is a good thing.

The Supremes ruled it unconstitutional before, there's no reason to think they wouldn't do so again. The executive DOES have way too much power, but we are spending ourselves into the poorhouse, and putting it on the national credit card for our children to pay off.
