There are occasionally examples of bad reporting but all in all its quite good. Dont confuse op ed and some hesdlines with news. But oral you get your news from rush so you have no need for a paper anyway.

I believe that photo was found on the news pages. Is that just an example of occasional bad reporting, or is it reflective of an underlying attitude and bias at the NYT?

My vote is for the latter.

It's much like the Dan Rather "fake but accurate" meme.

They want it to be true, and they allow their biases to cloud their objectivity.
