In fact, the proposed cuts are so draconian that it seems to some that the White House is simply making them up to make its long-term deficit figures look better. More realistic numbers, however, would raise doubts as to whether Bush can keep his promise to wrestle the deficit under control by the time he leaves office.

Here in the West Bush has started looking into the sale of national forestland to help pay for his tax cuts and Iraqi war. His policies are so blatantly destructive to the well being of the US, you would think the outcry would be louder.

People need to get involved. American priorities have gotten turned upside down. If we don't object, they will only get worse.
