The ancestors of the current homeless once lived in hospitals and institutions. Reagan cut their funding. Read your American history. re:So if you have a gripe about the homeless on the streets, tell it to the GOP...they are mostly responsible for the current mess......... Explain Seattle, San Fransisco, Portland and LA - all are mostly Dem's - local issues are not the Feds fault - I never blamed Clinton during his eight years. It was federal monies that paid for the hospitals and institutions. Reagan cut those programs......you know, LBJ's great society. All the stuff you GOPers say was worthless. Left it up to the states. He cut other programs too putting more burden on the states. They picked up the slack where they could. Of course, in the end it was the rich Republicans who benefited.......they got tax cuts and since they live in the suburbs, they were uneffected by all the newly homeless people on the streets. Your argument is with them......take it up with them at your next meeting at party headquarters. Brick by brick the Republicans are destroying the very fabric of this country. They don't want to be responsible for the less fortunate in this society for all their Christian pretenses. Its as if they are evil........who knows maybe they are.
