The war on drugs..... The War On People Who Use Certain Drugs has long ago taken on a life of its own. The little green herb has become so demonized that hardly anyone can discuss it rationally. Politicians can't even hint at lessening laws against it without suffering the political fallout. The Religious Right can't even admit that maybe God created cannabis for a reason. None of us can publically suggest that there may be such a thing as responsible usage by adults. Thank heaven the drug-use-helps-terrorists meme was laughed out of town before it stuck. And so the War sputters on, beholden to spin and hype from authority figures, while being disproven every day by saner folks in the trenches.
