I have found that ardent conservatives and liberals both dislike threads where their views cannot prevail. They want the power to dismiss the Others with a single sarcastic quip and declare themselves the wise, objective winners. As pointed out previously, Dale, you're not banned from here, so we could wipe the floor of this thread with you if you dare show up. Anyone ever see Baker sniped at on a leftwing thread like he is here? Not that I ever recall, no.
