The only other answer is Halliburton and the other corps that profit from the misery. I think even they are sated at this point.

They might have gotten us into the mess for profit, and that happened to go along with Bush wanting to best Poppy and be "a war Prezident", and Rove wanting the knee jerk support that accords a "war" Prezident, and Cheney and Rummy wanting to play army men with a real army, and the dual-loyalty Jewish Americans in the admin wanting to invade for Israel, and the neocons wanting to spread DUHmocracy by the barrel of a gun in the post cold war world, etc. It was a perfect storm for the war.

I really do think at this point, it's just Bush's pride, and the pride of the war boosters. No one wants to be wrong and a failure. A bigger man that loved America would own up to it and move on. But then, we know Bush isn't a big man - he's a very small man.

He doesn't have to get elected, he's already wealthy and when Poppy dies, he'll be a lot wealthier. At this point, he's no ones tool.
