From your posted LINK --- Re: "Rumor.... After presenting the matter to the Supervisor of Fedayeen Saddam, he ordered that the matter should be looked into for verification of the truth of the rumor. Please review and inform us."

I would not personally be surprised to find that 'jihadists' had departed from EVERY Islamic nation to go fight 'Christians'.... That would be much like the fevor that motivated many Islamicists to rally to fight the 'Godless Soviets' in the 1980s in Afghanistan. After all, Pan-nationalism has a long tradition in the Arab and Islamic worlds... going back centuries.

So, this would not surprise me if it happened, if young hot-heads wanted to go off and 'fight the Crusaders'.

Still, all your 'translated document' points to thus far is an UNVERIFIED rumor reported to Saddam's Intelligence Service in 2001.

It would be most useful to see what the follow up to the rumor says. (Because, for example, a rumor that 'Martian landings' were reported last night would mean little, until it was investigated.) When the results of Saddam's investigation are translated --- or when a single shred of corroborating evidence is produced --- then you will have a story.

So far what you have pointed to do not establish what you claim they do.
