The chances of the Dems getting the House back are rather tiny, but if they DID, my prediction is that the House impeachment movement wouldn't get any more traction than it has now. The House is supposed to be up for grabs far MORE than the every-three-decades that it is today. The Dems contributed slightly more than the Republicans to destroying that marvelous feature the Founders gave us, and ought to get in front on the term limits movement. One should not, however, hold one's breath...

"Almost all the Democrats (outside of Feingold and a few others) basically supported the war in Iraq and the initial Patriot Act so I find this talk of impeachment somewhat hypocritical." You and anyone else who remembers more that the biased media wants them to. "Bush cannot advance the Iraq situation," That line is a pessimistic view. Perhaps you are correct. "A loss of either House would cripple Congress but it would also cripple the Bush Administration in getting its own legislation through." Washington gridlock is not such a bad thing. "That government which governs least, governs best." "A loss of both Houses would be catastrophic for President Bush. He would then face two years of investigations over his Iraq enterprise." Good analysis. The flip side is that it would pave the road back to minority status. "The stock market is surely not taking this talk of impeachment seriously" The stock market is very good at building likely future risk into prices. This is a good indicator that the market discounts the possibility of a Democrat take over of Congress.
