Saddam has already been removed from power. We own the mess now.

Clinton did the right thing in 1998 against Saddam. He didn't send in 150,000 Americans and get them trapped there, he bombed every single suspected military and WMD site, then put Saddam in a box where he was only a danger to Shiites, and not the outside world.

In fact, Clinton's 1998 strikes against Saddam made invasion totally unnecessary. But it was a good idea to do a forced frisking of Saddam to make sure he didn't have a WMD program. That was being done very well by the UN inspectors until Bush kicked them out.

So supporting 1998 vs. 2003 is not hypocrisy at all. One was a smart measured response, the other a huge brash reckless all-out war.
