Details aside, the debt seems manageable, however you do the per capita part.

GDP is definitely profitable, on average. That's the whole point of economic activity. Certainly, as you say, at any instant, a significant proportion is losing money, but at the other end, others are making heaps. It's the average which matters.

Overall, profit per market capitalisation is something like P:E of 15, give or take a bit.

Things seem to take longer than I expect, so perhaps you are right. But things really happen quickly once they get going. I'm aiming at 2010 as being a major onslaught against the USD. Certainly, that won't be the end of the line, but it should be heading for the end of the beginning.
