Agreed. As I understand it, initially the chip only has your ID information on it...the same information that is in your passport. So scrambling the chip only slows things down. If your chip is scrambled customs has to look more closely at your passport. IMHO that's a small price to pay to prevent an unauthorized look at your identity.

I don't even know if my new passport has an RFID chip. How big are the things? I can't feel anything unusual. Are they so thin and flexible you don't know they are there?
