<< think the United States is headed for the worst economic chaos ever created>>

I think you're probably not wrong, but I'm not sure it would be doing our offspring any favor if their futures were as rosy as their pasts have been.

The next few generations need to get a backbone. In many cases, they lived a good life because their parents both worked two jobs apiece most of the time or because their parents had the built-in advantage of health insurance and a few other benefits.

The kids (and many of their peers with the personal cars, personal cell phones, personal IPODS, personal computers) got a paid vacation through high school and sometimes college....they should and probably will learn to do with less in the future.

The future should be a character-building exercise for the entire country. (including our fearless political leaders) <<gg>>
