Kerry had a sterling military record. In fact his CO fit reps say that he was so valiant in combat that they didn't know if they should rebuke him for being TOO brave. lol You don't win a Silver And Bronze star for running away from danger. You win them for ignoring personal safety and killing enemy to save your brothers in arms. Which is exactly what Kerry did. Multiple times. Why do you think the smear jockeys working for Bush felt it necessary to throw all ethics to the wind and libel him? They did the same thing to Murtha, Cleland and McCain to varying degrees, like Kerry, all bona fide war heros, which Bush-Cheney-Delay all dodged the draft and recklessly rushed us into a new quagmire war.
