Lazarus > A hydrogen fusion weapon uses a conventional fission nuclear explosion to generate the heat and pressure necessary to cause the hydrogen to fuse. You STILL get radiation.

I believed and even argued that myself but then I read that they could get the necessary high temperatures by laser technology. Frankly, there isn't a great deal written on the internet about contemporary fusion technology, likewise about mini-nukes which, as you know, can be made so small that they can be fired in an artillery round and, apparently, without a great deal of radiation.

I can't speak for others but I plead ignorance. If you are 100% sure that fission is still an absolutely necessary prerequisite for fusion, as it was in the early hydrogen bomb tests, then I accept your criticism.
