Yes, absolutely. The newly revealed Pentagon papers say so. But even more importantly, these guys in the Middle East are about as crooked as a $3 dollar bill. Even without any evidence, I think the safer bet would always be to say that countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, and North Korea are neck deep involved in terrorism. It's just a fact of life over there.

I hear all the arguments about Al Qaeda Wahabis would never collude with Shias, etc. But there's an old Muslim saying that goes something like "me against my brother; my brother and I against our cousin; me, my brother, and my cousing against the world", or something like that. What it means is that Sunnis and Shias may hate each other, but they hate the West more. Imagining collusion there really is not far-fetched. Then when we think about the fact that Saddam and his party is Sunni, well then an alliance with Al Qaeda seems all the more likely.
